"Prof Russell Kolts is a licensed clinical psychologist and Professor of Psychology at Eastern Washington University in the USA, where he has taught for over 20 years. He has authored or co-authored numerous books and scholarly articles, including The Compassionate Mind Guide to Managing Your Anger, CFT Made Simple, Living with an Open Heart: Cultivating Compassion in Everyday Life, Experiencing Compassion-Focused Therapy from the Inside Out, and Buddhist Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: A Clinician's Guide.

Russell regularly conducts trainings and workshops on compassion and CFT, and he founded (and leads) the Inland Northwest Compassionate Mind Center, based in Spokane, WA, USA. He also co-ordinates an active CFT Made Simple group for CFT practitioners on Facebook, which has over 4000 members. Russell appeared in a TEDx talk entitled “Anger, Compassion, and What it Means to be Strong” in 2015. "
